INTERNATIONAL METABOLIC SYNDROME EXCHANGE

Metabolic syndrome

is one of the key threats to our civilised societies. We still do not understand it fully, but it surely requires a multidisciplinary treatment approach for each patient. Therefore, the International Metabolic Syndrome Exchange (IMSE) conference aims to trigger an exchange of experience between healthcare professionals who focus their efforts on the four threats which appear in any combination or even concurrently: obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, and diabetes.

These threats may be called ‘the four riders of the twenty-first century health apocalypse’ – an exaggeration perhaps, but a real, life-threatening combination of risk factors and an array of symptoms that present a major challenge to healthcare professionals. At the IMSE, opinion leaders in your specialty fields debate the status quo, progress, and improvements in metabolic syndrome interventions.

About the sponsor

PRO.MED.CS is a family owned pharmaceutical company specialised in unique medical interventions in hepatology, gastroenterology, and cardiology. By observing current healthcare phenomena and therapeutic trends, we have been able to identify the unmet needs of healthcare professionals and their patients in treating metabolic-related diseases. Most recently we completed a fifteen-year R&D project introducing a unique innovative combination therapy for arterial hypertension. We are also a worldwide leader in ursodeoxycholic acid, the most potent active substance in metabolic-related diseases affecting the liver and lipid metabolism, an indirect therapy for type II diabetes, and a significant contribution to any cardiovascular treatment.

Given our commitment to the field, we decided to support the initiative for independent scientific discussion about metabolic syndrome and are proud to be the general sponsor of this experience-exchange forum for the benefit of specialists and patients around the world. We intend to make the IMSE a regular scientific event held in various international locations and attracting the most respected authorities in their medical fields.
